Hundreds of haredim protested Tuesday night in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood against next week's planned gay parade in the city, police said. Several dozen of the protesters who pelted police with stones and blocks, and tried to block traffic on a main city thoroughfare were forcibly dispersed by police, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said. Four policemen were lightly injured by stones, including one who was evacuated to Jerusalem's Sha'are Tzedek Hospital. Nine protesters were detained by police.
