The IDF shot and killed an Egyptian man on Tuesday who tried to infiltrate into Israel from the Sinai Peninsula. The soldiers noticed a group of six people carrying sacks across the northern part Israel-Egypt border. The group did not heed the troops' calls to stop, nor did they respond to shots fired in the air. Only after the soldiers shot at them did five of the apparent smugglers escape, while the sixth was killed.
