IDF forces successfully prevented the firing of a Kassam rocket from the Gaza Strip towards Israel overnight Thursday. Troops identified a group of Palestinians preparing for a rocket launch and opened fire at the operatives. There were no known casualties as a result of the army gunfire and the rocket was not fired. Six Kassam rockets, however, were launched over the course of the night, five of which landed in Israeli territory.
