IDF raises alert level along Israeli-Egyptian border, closes road

The IDF said Thursday that it had raised its alert level and taken several steps to prevent Palestinian terrorists from entering Israel, in light of the unhindered passage of thousands of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Egypt.
The steps included the closure of road 10 which runs along the border, shared security assessments between the army and the police, and ongoing contact between the army and communities in the Western Negev, in order to provide them with directions in accordance with security assessments.
