IDF sources told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday that forces shot an unidentified figure carrying a large bag earlier in the evening as it tried to climb the security fence along the northern side of the Gaza Strip. They reported that the figure did not heed the troops' calls to stop moving, and tried to climb the fence instead. Troops opened fire, and reported hitting the figure, which was evacuated by a Palestinian ambulance. Palestinians reported that the person was a 10-year-old girl; she reportedly died from the shooting.
