Israel invited a UN observer into an IDF military control room Saturday to help oversee the transfer of aid to south Lebanon, the Foreign Ministry said. The move comes on the same day that Israel rejected a UN proposal for a three-day ceasefire to allow for the evacuation of civilians. Israel has come under increasing criticism for mounting civilian casualties caused by its aerial bombardment of Lebanese towns and cities.
