Israeli doctors head to Peru to offer assistance

An Israeli delegation of doctors has begun making its way to Peru to offer services after a deadly earthquake left at least 540 people dead, Channel 10 reported. On Friday, President Shimon Peres sent a telegram to Peruvian President Alan Garcia offering Israel's assistance. Also last week, the Foreign Ministry transferred 20,000 dollars to the Israeli Embassy in Lima for the purchase of blankets and tents for the earthquake victims.
