PA officials expressed their surprise following an Israeli protest over the early release of members of a Fatah cell suspected of plotting to assassinate Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jericho, Israel Radio reported. The officials reportedly claimed the complaint reflected a misunderstanding or different sets of standards, adding that not all of the suspects were released, and those who were not kept in custody were let go because they did not have the means to carry out their plan, which made their arrest unnecessary.
