A 23-year-old Jerusalem Arab armed with a couple knives entered a central Jerusalem store Thursday and tried to stab his former Jewish employer, police said. The assailant, who had recently been fired from his job at the meat shop, was overcome by shoppers who summoned the police. Two additional knives were found in his possession. There were no injuries reported in the late-afternoon attack.
