Two people were lightly wounded in a second barrage of rockets on Kiryat Shmona on Thursday evening, less than two hours after the previous barrage that rained down on the city. The second strike consisted of three or four rockets, one of which scored a direct hit on a residential 9-story building in the city. MDA reported that it had treated 72 people throughout the day in 43 separate incidents in the north. Twenty of those people were lightly wounded, while the rest suffered from shock.

WAR IN THE NORTH: DAY 16
Earlier, seven people were lightly wounded, when a barrage of rockets landed in several northern communities on Thursday afternoon, striking a factory in Kiryat Shmona, and structures in Majdel Krum, Karmiel and Nahariya. Two of the people sustain shrapnel wounds, while five others, including four whose Majdel Krum home was struck, suffered from shock. As a result of the strike, several fires broke out in Kiryat Shmona, nearly decimating the detergent factory. One of the firefighters who worked to control the flames was lightly wounded. Eight rockets landed in Tiberias in the late afternoon, while five fell in Karmiel. Police said that northern Israel sustained 75 rockets during the day. Alarms warning of impending rockets also sounded in Tiberias, Karmiel, Shfaram, Abu Snan and other communities in northern Israel. Residents of those communities, as well as any others where alarms are sounded, were instructed to remain in bomb shelters or secured rooms. Three houses were damaged by rockets fired at communities in northern Israel earlier Thursday afternoon. No one was wounded in the attacks. The rockets fell in open areas near Ma'alot, Karmiel, Safed, Rosh Pina, Majdel Krum, Alma, Kfar Vradim, Peki'in, as well as other areas. On Wednesday, 55 Israelis were wounded from rocket attacks in some 35 locations in the North, Magen David Adom reported.
