Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski on Tuesday advocated building more housing units in Jerusalem, Israel Radio reported. Lupolianski was responding to remarks on Monday night by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who wondered if appending the Arab neighborhoods to capital after its unification had been the right thing to do. According to the mayor, 2,000 housing units were on the market in those neighborhoods, and that there would be another 20,000.
