Hamas leader in exile Khaled Mashaal said Thursday that as yet no serious efforts had been made to negotiate for the release of kidnapped IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit, Army Radio reported. Mashaal told a Lebanese paper that Shalit would be released only in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. "There is no other way, but negotiations haven't begun yet, because Israel is not ready to admit that its efforts to free Shalit have failed," Mashaal said.
