The Ministry of the Environment will begin to provide recycling bins to schools throughout the country in an attempt to institutionalize better recycling practices. As part of a new initiative, Army Radio reported, the ministry will transfer NIS two million to local councils for the placement of recycling containers near schools. 40,000 tons of plastic bottles are used by Israeli consumers each year.
