One person was killed and another lightly injured on Wednesday morning in the town of Beit Shikma, near Ashkelon, when their car smashed into a tree. An initial police investigation showed that the driver apparently lost control of the car due to slippery streets caused by the rain. Traffic police also suspect that the driver was speeding, causing the car to lose control at a sharp turn in the road.
