A Palestinian woman was killed Friday morning in northern Gaza on her way to a mosque where gunmen were facing off against IDF troops, Palestinians health officials said. Dr. Muawiya Hassanin, an official at the Palestinian Health Ministry, said troops killed the woman and wounded two others. The army had no immediate comment. A Hamas radio station in Gaza broadcast a call Friday to northern Gaza women to go to the mosque to serve as human shields for militants who holed up there late Thursday to evade IDF troops pursuing Palestinian rocket-launching cells.
