Security forces prevented thousands of Palestinians from entering Jerusalem Friday morning, this in an attempt to minimize the chance of violence during prayers on the Temple Mount for the first Friday in the Muslim month of Ramadan. Only those with special permission, men over the age of 45, and women over 35 were allowed through security checkpoints. Thousands of police are currently dispatched throughout the Old City, and along the routes which lead up to it.
