Police suspected of taking bribes at checkpoint

Police were investigating allegations that Border Police from the Har Hebron area took bribes from Palestinians in exchange for allowing them to cross through checkpoints, Israel Radio reported. Police suspected that several border policemen regularly took cigarettes from Palestinians trying to cross the checkpoint as a form of payment for allowing them to enter Israel.
