A policewoman who allowed a criminal to kidnap her last year in Ashdod was fired on Thursday after being found unfit for the police. Last May, F.-Sgt. Irana Gurhod was kidnapped after removing the handcuffs from a thief who had been arrested, to allow him to drink water. The suspect then shoved the policewoman down to the floor, snatched her gun, fired a shot in the air, and obtained the keys to a patrol car, driving away with Gurhod. He was later shot dead by police in an exchange of fire at a police road block.
