Prof. Ravitzky critically hurt in road accident

A 61-year-old pedestrian was hit by a bus and critically injured in central Jerusalem Monday while crossing the street at a cross-walk, police said. The man was later identified as Israel Prize winner Professor Avi Ravitzky. Ravitzky was rushed to Hadassah University Hospital at Ein Kerem after the afternoon accident near the city's central bus station. The driver of the bus was detained for questioning.
