The committee of haredi rabbis that was established to discuss the topic of civil unions decided late Wednesday that two non-Jewish partners can be married in Israel, on the condition that the marriage celebrant is not Jewish, according to Army Radio. The decision, made by Rabbi Yosef Shalom Eliashiv, correlates with previous rulings by Sephardi Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar.
