Representatives of the government and the Secondary School Teachers Organization were meeting Sunday afternoon in an attempt to reach a compromise on the teachers' demands and end the school strike, now in its tenth day. Army Radio reported that the Education Ministry would be authorized to offer 180 teachers early retirement. However, due to the continued strike, it is possible that the ministry will implement the move unilaterally.
