Sharon to undergo new brain scan on Sunday

Doctors ordered a new brain scan Sunday for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who remained unconscious in critical but stable condition more than two weeks after a devastating stroke, medical officials said. Hadassah Hospital said Sharon would undergo the brain scan later in the day, and then return to his room. Sharon has been in a coma since the January 4 stroke, which caused severe bleeding in the brain. Sharon, who was put in an induced coma to heal from three brain operations, was weaned off the last of the sedatives last week but remains unconscious.
