As part of a major reform in the IDF regulations, tens of thousands of army reserve soldiers, most of them belonging to non-combat units, can expect to receive notification by the end of 2006 that they are exempt from reserve duty. The letters will thank the soldiers for their contribution to the nation and invite them to a ceremony celebrating the end of their service, Army Radio reported.
