A military reserve force shot a Palestinian terror suspect who had tried to evade arrest at a Nablus checkpoint on Thursday afternoon. Soldiers identified the man as a wanted suspect after checking his identity card when he arrived at the checkpoint. Upon realizing he had been recognized, the man attempted to flee the scene. The reservists called out to the man to stop, fired warning shots into the air and then finally at his body, as is the correct IDF protocol. Troops at the scene treated the fugitive, who had been shot in the stomach and the hand, before evacuating him to an Israeli hospital. Earlier Thursday, IDF soldiers shot and killed an armed Palestinian who tried to attack one of the troops guarding the Birazit Checkpoint near Ramallah.
