An innocent bystander was injured Sunday night when a criminal threw a grenade at the Nahariya house of a Northern District police officer. The woman, a Nahariya resident in her late 30s, was sitting in the yard next to the house of a drug squad detective when a suspect threw the grenade. Witnesses described a large explosion that left the woman moderately wounded with injuries to her back and limbs. She was evacuated to Western Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya. A number of witnesses also gave police a clear description of a motorcycle seen fleeing the scene of the attack. Another grenade thrown around the same time in another neighborhood in the northern coastal town did not detonate. The house targeted in that attack belongs to a key witness in an ongoing trial against a local crime family. Police said Sunday that they believed they knew which Nahariya crime family was behind the attacks. Less than 90 minutes after the grenades were thrown, police arrested three suspects, all in their 20s.
