If you haven't seen From Rome With Love yet, The Schmooze recommends that you don't walk – run! to the nearest movie theater. Woody Allen's recent films have taken fans on tours of London, Barcelona, Paris and now Rome, and Israeli model\actress\producer Noa Tishby thinks it's about time that he check out Israel. Allen has told the press that he films in countries that offer him the best financial deal, and as such, Tishby and the Los Angeles Jewish Journal launced a campaign to raise $18 million for him to make a movie in the Holy Land. So far, $16,164 has been pledged. If you want to contribute, check out The Woody Allen Israel Project.

While Noa Tishby is using her fame for an ostensibly good cause, another Israeli model took to YouTube to sell underwear. After joining a lingerie tennis league, Bar Refaeli has decided to swim in her skivvies – and glasses. Check out the video and see if it makes you want to buy from Bar's underwear line, or if it just makes you confused as to how her glasses stay on underwater.

Who do you think is the highest-paid actress in Hollywood? Here are some clues: She's Jewish, and stars in one of the biggest super-hero movies ever. Did you guess Scarlett Johansson? The one female among the Avengers was offered $20 million to reprise her role as Black Widow in a sequel, after being paid $4-6 million plus bonuses for the first film, which grossed $1.45 billion.

Scarlett Johansson

Thirsty? In the mood for some Sprite? Well, don't try to drink out of the human-sized dispensers in Tel Aviv this summer. They're actually showers, disguised as soda fountains. While you clean off after a visit to the beach, a Sprite representative will take your picture, email it to you, and give you some free Sprite. Yum. The wacky advertising campaign, by ad agency Ogilvy, is running exclusively in Tel Aviv and Rio De Janiero.

If you haven't heard the song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen, you've probably been living in a cave for the past few months. The catchy hit has been ubiquitous on radio stations around the world, spawning endless online discussion, ridiculous Jewish celebrity twitter-conversations (Mac Miller is not the sharpest pencil in the drawer), and parodies of the silly music video in which the Canadian singer ogles her next door neighbor, works up the courage to speak to him…and then finds out he's gay. This week, College Humor came out with a very funny (and potentially offensive) spoof:

The Weekly Schmooze collects the hottest Jewish culture news from around the world. Ranging from celebrities to philanthropy to quirky communities, we're here to schmooze about Jews. If you have any news to share with The Weekly Schmooze, write to:weeklyschmooze@gmail.com
