Preparing for Rosh Hashana is hard work – lots of apples and honey to buy, fish heads and briskets to cook, and, of course, there's that whole reflecting-on-last-year's-sins thing. While you're getting ready to ring in 5773, the Schmooze has this year's best YouTube Rosh Hashana offerings.
Aish is celebrating the new year with a One Direction parody filmed around Jerusalem's Old City, called "What Makes Rosh Hashana Beautiful:"
The nerds over at the Technion programmed robots to dance along to some classic Israeli Rosh Hashana tunes:
Next we have a parody of a popular song by Eyal Golan, presented by the media-criticism site Latma, founded by The Jerusalem Post's Caroline Glick:
Last but not least, we have shofar-blowing all over Los Angeles, with a mariachi band shouting "Tekia Gdola!"
Now for some celebrity gossip: Remember Drake's Bar Mitzva? The Jewish rapper won Best Hip Hop Video at the MTV Video Music Awards this week. Coincidentally, the two actors presenting him with the award are also Jewish: Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg. Drake took the stage with Lil' Wayne and Nicki Minaj, saying that the video is "about me, being black and Jewish." Check out the chair-lifting fun (and NSFW lyrics) here:

Still in the rap world, Kanye West gave a shout-out to Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli in his latest song, "Clique," rhyming: "Sh*t is real, got me feeling Israelian/Like Bar Refaeli, Gisele, nah that's Brazilian." The line is about four minutes into the song:
