A doctor in the IDF Central Command is suspected of raping and carrying out
indecent acts against a number of female soldiers whom he was charged with
examining, it was revealed on Friday.
Military Police began investigating
the doctor three months ago after receiving a number of complaints from female
soldiers. The Military Police presented the findings of its investigation to
military prosecutors who were in the process of deciding whether to issue an
indictment.
The IDF said that the doctor is a civilian employed by the
army, and was the subject of a Military Police investigation over suspicions of
a range of sexual offenses. “After the investigation, the findings were sent to
the military prosecutor, which is examining the possibility of placing the
suspect on trial in accordance with the suspicions against him,” the IDF
added.
Attorneys representing the doctor told Ynet that “there is no
connection between reality and the reports,” and denied all the suspicions
against him.
They expressed doubt that any charges would be brought
forward.
