The IDF has declined to comment on reports that Russia reprimanded the military attaches of Israel and the US following a missile defense drill held over the Mediterranean Sea last week.
According to one report, which appeared in the Russian RIA-Novosti news agency, the Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antanov called in the Israeli and American attaches last week, and told them to refrain from military activities that will negatively affect regional or world security.
"The IDF does not comment on internal talks in the context of military diplomacy channels," a senior military source said in response to the reports.
On September 3, The Defense Ministry with the assistance of the Pentagon fired a new Israeli-made target missile, and activated the radar system and command and control of the Arrow missile defense system.
The missile fired was a Sparrow-type decoy, developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
The Defense Ministry acknowledged the drill after Russia announced that its navy radars in the Mediterranean identified missile fire in the area.
