Likud convention scheduled for eve of prisoner release delayed
By GIL HOFFMAN

The Likud convention set for next Monday was delayed by more than a month after the party's internal comptroller, Shai Galili, accused the party's administration of illegally allowing political allies into the voting body, an internal Likud court decided Thursday afternoon.

Had the convention taking place Monday could have caused problems for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, because it's possible that the fourth round of Palestinian prisoner releases would have taken place that night and he would have had to address the hawks at the convention that night.
