Likud Minister Danon on latest incident in Yitzhar: Violence against security forces only hurts the settlements.

Police on Wednesday arrested two individuals for alleged involvement in the ransacking of an army post near the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar early Tuesday morning.

In the incident in question, a group of 50 to 60 settlers from Yitzhar raided an army post located to the west of the settlement, destroying generators, army equipment, heaters, and diesel fuel tanks. The raid came shortly after security forces demolished a number of illegal structures in the settlement.

A man in his twenties from the Gilad Farm settlement and an approximately 40-year-old man in his forties were arrested for suspected involvement in the incident, police said.

In a separate incident, a 16-year-old boy in Yitzhar was arrested after throwing rocks at a police car in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon told Israel Radio Wednesday that he doesn't know of a single MK who backs the actions of the settlers against security forces, adding that violence against them only hurts the settlements.

Yaakov Lappin contributed to this report.
