European techno-progressive band Tangerine Dream has canceled its upcoming debut concert in Tel Aviv due to technical reasons, the show’s producers announced Sunday.

The band, led by 70-year-old German composer Edgar Froese, had been scheduled to perform on May 18 at the Tel Aviv Opera House. In an interview with The Jerusalem Post last month, Froese expressed excitement about coming to Israel for the first time, saying “I always wanted to experience Israel and the people over there but never had a chance. I learned a lot about your country, your people and your traditions, now it will be the first time to get in contact face to face.”
