Papal visit to close many streets in Jerusalem today and tomorrow

Due to Pope Francis’s 24-hour visit to the capital, no parking will be allowed, from noon Sunday through 8 p.m. Monday, on the following streets: Haim Yasky, Aharon Katzir, Yitzhak Hanadiv, Haofel, Ma’aleh Hashalom, Chativat Yerushalayim, Yitzhak Kariv, Agron, Gaza, Herzog, Zalman Schneur, Shmuel Bayit, Betzalel Bazak, Herzl (from Shmuel Bayit to Yad Vashem), King George (from Smolenskin to Keren Kayemet), Arlozoroff, Hanasi, Shlomo Hamelech, Chativat Hatzanchanim, Jaffa (from Tzahal Square) to Cativat Yerushalayim), Rabaa al-Adawiya, Martin Buber in the direction of the A-Tor neighborhood, Shmuel ben Adaya, Rockefeller junction and Yericho Road.

Illegally parked vehicles will be towed to the Liberty Bell Park or Ammunition Hill parking lots.

Drivers with parking permits for Area 8 (Talbiyeh) will be permitted to park in Area 7 (Rehavia) during the pope’s visit.

The light rail will operate as usual except when the motorcade moves near the track or crosses it.

Public transportation: Expect disruptions. Call *8787 for updates.

The Western Wall will be closed until 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Mount Herzl and Yad Vashem will be closed to visitors on Monday until noon.
