A Syrian rebel leader was filmed with a Hello Kitty notebook while giving an anger-filled speech to his fellow Jihadi fighters.
"They are dirty bastards, with an evil ideology," said Sheikh Zahran Alloush, the pink cartoon-covered notebook resting by his side, as he lashed out against the Islamic State's large number of non-Syrian fighters.
It is clear whether or not Alloush specifically chose to use this notebook.
During the speech, he describes the Islamic State's atrocities in the past few months. "They forced him to the ground and slit his throat," he says while referring to the killing of the terrorist commander, known as Abul Miqdam.
Alloush is the head of Jaysh al-Islam, meaning Army of Islam, a Syrian Muslim rebel group fighting against the Syrian government. They have refused to join forces with the more-secular Free Syrian Army.
Alloush is also founder of the rebel Liwa al-Islam brigade.
