The three-day Children’s Theater Festival in Haifa features more than 200 performances, a large number of which will be presented free of charge in the streets.

The festival takes place from March 27 to 29 in and around the Municipal Theater complex, as well as at the Carmel Center.

DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF ANCIENT EGYPT


'The Secret of Eternal Life, Mummification and the Magical Spells of the Ancient Egyptians' will be the focus of a family fun activity offered by The Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem. Other activities include making personal amulets and papyrus. Free entrance, including the theatrical tours in the galleries, sponsored by Bank Hapoalim. The tour starts every half an hour.

MUSIC

PEEL THE ORANGE

American band Firewater, which plays an eclectic mix of music with influences from klezmer and Gypsy tunes, will perform two shows in Tel Aviv after a four-year absence from the Israeli stage. The band will perform in Israel as part of its European tour celebrating their new album International Orange.

GO CLASSIC

Singer/songwriter Avraham Tal performs his songs with the Israel Chamber Orchestra at the Israeli Opera tonight as part of the Classi-Rock series. The special arrangements were written by musical director Ilan Mochiach.

PICK A POTATO OR TWO

The Potato Festival will take place in the Besor region on March 28. Activities for the whole family include tours to the potato fields, cooking workshops, creative corners, plays and a farmer’s market.

At Mitzpe Gvulot (Route 222) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each family will receive a complimentary bag of potatoes.

The international sculpting festival Even Bagalil (Stone in the Galilee) takes place in Ma’alotTarshiha during the holiday. There are plenty of arts and crafts activities for the whole family, boating competitions, concerts and more. Free entrance.

BE ILLUMINATED

An illuminated Haggada and Shir Hashirim fair, sponsored by Kol HaOt, will feature artwork by Israeli artists such as Mati Grunberg, David Moss and Avner Moriah.
