HUMANIZING THE GAZA WAR The Cameri Theater presents Pulitzer Prizewinning author Lawrence Wright in his one-man exploration of the conflict in Gaza, The Human Scale. Directed by The Public Theater’s artistic director Oskar Eustis, the play has gained critical acclaim in the US. In it Wright presents his worldview on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in recent years, and explains how the parties reached the present impasse, which he argues began with the abduction of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit. He has often been compared to Elton John and Billy Joel. In 1995, he was selected as Israel Radio and Television’s Singer of the Year after his Tapuhim Utmarim (Apples and Dates) album reached triple platinum. Combining thought-provoking lyrics with clever arrangements, Elling has forged a potent body of work.
