Egypt said Thursday its call for a summit of Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian leaders aims to boost Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas as the US ally moved to isolate Hamas after its takeover of Gaza. A day after Monday's summit in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is to hold talks with Saudi King Abdullah, aiming to unify a bloc of Arab nations in support of Abbas and against Hamas.
