Report: Lebanon asks Interpol to catch Mossad 'spy'
Former Lebanese general accused of collaborating with Israeli intelligence; five alleged spies face death sentence.

Lebanon requested that Interpol release an arrest warrant against a Lebanese former general who allegedly worked for the Mossad, AFP reported on Thursday."Prosecutor General Said Mirza sent an arrest warrant in absentia against Ghassan al-Jidd, who is suspected of having collaborated with Israeli intelligence, to the Interpol office in Beirut to be circulated abroad," a Lebanese judicial source told AFP.RELATED:'Lebanese general faces spy charges'Lebanon compiles list of spy cases against IsraelJidd was on the list of "spies" allegedly working for Israel, which Hizbullah head Hassan Nasrallah he released during a press conference in August.Lebanese reports say Jidd fled to Israel or France. Over 100 alleged spies for Israel have been arrested in the past two years, including telecom employees, members of security forces and soldiers on active duty. Some have been accused of helping Israel during the Second Lebanon War.Five accused of espionage have been sentenced to death.
