Abbas: We will reject plan with any provisional borders

PA president says he hasn't been notified of PM's new plan; Likud MK expects future state will include Jordan Valley, settlements, J'lem.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas rejected again any peace agreement with Israel that called a future Palestinian state within temporary borders, The Associated Press reported Saturday.
Speaking in Ramallah, Abbas told the press that he has not yet been notified of a new plan that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to announce in coming weeks.

Though Netanyahu has not revealed any details on the plan, Palestinian officials believe it will include provisional borders, thus allowing Israel to continue expanding settlements.
MK Ophir Akunis (Likud) suggested Saturday that he expected Netanyahu to present a long-term interim agreement to the US Congress in two weeks time. Akunis added that Palestinians would likely postpone any attempts to settle the conflict.
Akunis also said that at the end of the peace process, Israel would remain in control of the Jordan Valley, key settlement blocs in the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
