Crash causes extensive damage to railway, 3 railway cars burned; MDA evacuates victims, all are lightly injured.

Two trains collided at the Netanya station on Thursday morning, injuring 60.

All were lightly injured, except for one that was moderately injured. The victims were taken to Laniado Medical Center in Netanya, Meir Medical Center in Kfar Sabba, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera and Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.

There was widespread damage to the trains after they crashed into each other.

MDA is at the site of the accident.

Israel Railways announced that train service between Tel Aviv and Haifa was stopped on Thursday morning, and is not scheduled to resume until at least Friday. The rest of the lines are functioning, but may be delayed.

In December, 79 people were injured after fire broke out on a train carrying 400 passengers near Netanya. The fire burned up three railway cars, and some passengers were forced to evacuate the train through windows because the doors did not open automatically.
