The Israel Broadcasting Authority has received the exclusive rights to broadcast the World Short Course swimming championships in Israel.
Although Israel Television’s Moshe Gertl, himself a former swimmer, was unable to obtain a visa to Dubai, he is in telephone contact with members of the team and is receiving a constant satellite feed of the games.
This will be broadcast daily from December 3-7 p.m. on Channel 1, with reporting by Gertl and commentary by Mickey Halika.
The broadcasts will be relayed from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Gertl spoke to members of the team in the predawn hours after their arrival Tuesday and learned that each had been subjected to intensive security inspection, but had not suffered any undue inconvenience.
