Home Front Defense Minister Gilad Erdan held an emergency meeting on Sunday evening following the latest in a series of light earthquakes that have occurred in the Kineret area.
The meeting was attended by representatives of all emergency services, including firefighters, the Israel Police, Magen David Adom paramedics, the IDF Home Front Command, and government ministries that have been part of national earthquake preparations, such as the ministries of Defense, Health, and Education.
The representatives discussed preparations that are in place for the possibility of a powerful earthquake causing an emergency situation, and to ensure that all of the various agencies are prepared to react quickly.
The meeting concluded with a decision to continue to monitor developments and remain in close touch with seismologists, while advancing the home front's readiness for various scenarios.
Throughout recent years, the IDF Home Front Command has held regular drills to test and develop national responses to earthquakes.
