He will be sentenced at a later date.

Awad is the second Palestinian to be convicted in the murders of the five Fogels – Udi and his wife, Ruth, and their three children, Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and 3-month-old Hadas. Awad’s cousin, Hakim, was previously convicted of the murders in September.

According to the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) investigation, the two Awad cousins infiltrated the settlement of Itamar, stole an M- 16 rifle from an empty home and then entered the Fogel family home where they killed the two sleeping boys, Elad and Yoav, and then the parents.

The two then left the house, and after fearing that Hadas would cry and alert neighbors, they returned to the home and killed her as well.
