A 37-year-old man raped a woman moments after following her from a pub near Tel Aviv’s old central bus station, according to an indictment the Tel Aviv District Attorney filed on Thursday.

Ahmad Abdallah, a Sudanese citizen, is charged with rape, and a second man, a 20-year-old Eritrean citizen named as Kidesh Tekle, is charged with attempting to sodomize the woman.

According to the indictment, Abdallah and Tekle attacked the woman in the early hours of May 15, shortly after meeting her in a pub.

Allegedly, Abdallah and Tekle dragged the woman into a dark side street where they brutally sexually assaulted her.

At around 4 a.m. on May 15, the complainant was at a pub on Salomon Street, the indictment said.

Allegedly, Tekle was in the pub at the same time as the complainant, together with another man whose identity is unknown.

The indictment said that shortly afterward, the complainant became upset and left the pub, after having an argument with a male acquaintance.

When the complainant left, Tekle and his unidentified friend followed her, the indictment alleged.

Abdallah joined the two on the street outside the pub, and the three men walked after the complainant as she turned on to Hanegev Street, which connects between Salomon Street and Menachem Begin Road.

At around 4:30 a.m., the complainant was near the car park on Acre Alley, just off Hanegev Street, where the unidentified man with Tekle and Abdallah allegedly mugged her, stealing her ID card and around NIS 600 in cash.

The unidentified man dropped the complainant’s ID card on the ground before running from the scene, the indictment said, and when the complainant bent down to pick it up, Abdallah and Tekle grabbed her.

Abdallah and Tekle allegedly dragged the complainant into a car park on Acre Alley, where they pressed up against her, one against the front of the complainant’s body and the second against her back.

With the complainant between them, Abdallah and Tekle then each unfastened their trousers, pulled up the complainant’s dress, removed her underwear and assaulted her, the indictment said.

While Abdallah raped the complainant, Tekle tried to simultaneously sodomize her, the indictment alleges, ignoring her screams.

The indictment said that during the rape, the two defendants held the complainant and pressed their hands over her mouth with such force that she was left with friction wounds on her face.

Immediately after these incidents, the indictment said that a police patrol car that had been driving around the area, drove up to the scene and shone its lights on the defendants, who ran away.

Abdallah is also charged with threatening the police officer who later questioned him in connection with the incident, and with interfering with a policeman in the course of duty.

According to the indictment, when a police officer questioned Abdallah in connection with the assault, Abdallah threatened him.

“Uncuff my hands and see what I’ll do to you. I’ll remember your face, I’ll get out and deal with you,” Abdallah allegedly told the police officer.

“I know where you live, I’ll come after your family,” Abdallah allegedly added.
