The Israeli medical establishment announced on Friday that it plans to form a committee that will investigate the death of a woman who died shortly after giving birth in a Holon hospital.
Doctors at Wolfson Medical Center in Holon pronounced a 28-year-old woman dead shortly after performing a Caesarean section late Thursday. The newborn's condition is good.
According to hospital officials, the woman arrived at Wolfson in the afternoon hours on Thursday after going into labor. When doctors noticed that the delivery was not proceeding as smoothly as anticipated, they made an attempt to perform a vacuum extraction, which did not produce the desired outcome. It was only then that it was decided to opt for the C-section.
Immediately after the operation, the woman's condition began to deteriorate. She was rushed to intensive care. After hours of treatment, doctors pronounced the woman dead.
