3 drown over weekend, many receive treatment

16 people require treatment for drowning-related incidents during a weekend which saw rough seas along the shore line.

Stormy seas claimed the lives of three people on Saturday, and many more were pulled from the sea after nearly drowning.
A toddler died after drowning in a pool in the backyard of a private residence. The father brought the child to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba where the child's death was declared following failed efforts to revive him.
A sixty-year-old man drowned off of the Bograshov beach in Tel Aviv. Medics who arrived on the scene were unable to save the man.
In Netanya a man in his 50's was brought to the hospital in critical condition, as was a 20-year-old man who nearly drowned in Tel Aviv.
Yesterday two women and a man drifted out to sea, but they were saved by Tel Aviv maritime police.
According to Magen David Adom, 16 people received treatment for drowning-related incidents over the weekend, three of which eventually passed away. 33 people have needed treatment since the beginning of the week.
