Eyal Golan to be questioned for fourth time, police search for missing witness

Reports abound that Golan will not be indicted in the case, and that most of the charges, including the most serious offenses, will fall on his father.

Singer Eyal Golan will be questioned for the fourth time Sunday in connection with alleged sexual relations and drug use with underage girls.
Police are still looking for the chief witness in the case, a 15-year-old girl who went missing late Thursday night.
Tel Aviv police said on Friday that they do not believe the girl to be in any danger, and that they believe she left home after learning that her parents would be putting her in a boarding school on Sunday.
Golan’s father, 63-year-old Dani Biton, will appear in the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Sunday for a remand hearing in the case, as will Golan’s employee, Tzahi Asulin.
It has been widely reported in the past few days that chances are Eyal Golan will not be indicted in the case, and that most of the charges, including the most serious offenses, will fall on his father.
Biton is at the center of the case, and stands accused not only of sleeping with underage girls, but also of paying them in money and gifts for sexual favors, as well as using access to his famous son in order to sleep with the alleged victims.
Police arrested five people in connection with the case on Wednesday, including Golan, but only ordered Biton and Asulin to remain in their custody.
Police said that on Sunday they will ask to extend Biton and Asulin’s remands a second time, with the goal of ending the investigation as soon as possible.
Golan, for his part, has been spending his five days house arrest in a hotel on the Tel Aviv beach front. On Sunday, police will decide whether or not to request for his house arrest to be extended.
On Friday, police said that over the course of the day they questioned five different suspects involved in the case and interviewed a 15-year-old girl, all part of what they said are efforts to determine the reliability of the complaints against the suspects.
In a highly-viewed prime time interview on Friday night, Eyal Golan’ personal manager and close friend Benny Peretz was interviewed for the first time, and professed Golan’s innocence, saying, “there were never any drugs or little girls around him [Golan], and he never committed a single mistake.”
