The Haifa District Attorney filed an indictment against a 32-year-old man from
Deir el- Asad, near Karmiel, on Wednesday, charging him with assaulting and
threatening a teacher.
According to the indictment, the defendant, Khalid
Amun, carried out the attack after the teacher ordered Amun’s relative, a
seventh-grade pupil, to leave the classroom after he had interrupted a
lesson.
The boy left the room and returned shortly afterward with Amun in
tow, who burst into the classroom and began brutally attacking the teacher in
front of his pupils with a chair, a table and by kicking and punching him, the
indictment said.
Allegedly, Amun continued raining kicks and punches on
the teacher even after he fell to the ground.
Amun only stopped his
attack when other teachers physically intervened to remove him. The teacher was
hospitalized for two days.
Amun is charged with aggravated grievous
bodily harm, threats and assaulting a public servant.
