An MDA medical crew rushed to save a man who was injured in the head by a rock while hiking at the Gita Cliffs, Carmiel. Paramedics and rescue personnel used 4X4 vehicles to reach the hiker who was hiking in difficult terrain.
Witnesses said that the rock fell on the hiker's head while he was attempting to climb up a cliff.
The 31-year-old was found in critical condition.
MDA paramedic Adrian Ocampo, who treated the injured man said, "This is a mountainous area with difficult terrain and our call center additionally dispatched a military helicopter. We arrived with an ambulance with special 4X4 capabilities to come up to 100 meters from where the injured man lay. When we arrived we found the trail and a man, about 30, lying on the ground with people around him who were attempting resuscitation. We began to give him medical treatment including drugs and resuscitation...an IDF medical staff arrived with the helicopter."
He was flown by helicopter to Rambam Medical Center where, after resuscitation he was pronounced dead.
