Following three years of restoration work on the site, officials inaugurated Ariel Sharon Park's new Mitcham Lev HaHar visitors center, in the presence of Environmental Minsiter Amir Peretz and Omri and Gilad Sharon.
The center features a multimedia exhibit depicting the history of the former garbage dump, and nearby is a new ecological lake, walking trails and a 500-seat amphitheater.
After the inauguration ceremony, the Sharon sons – and Omri's daughter Aya – planted two trees specially brought to the park from their late father's Sycamore Ranch.
